Lately I have been doing some difficult puzzle design. Today I woke up and wanted a break from that, so I decided to nail down one of the loose ends that hadn't been thought about yet: displaying subtitles during the in-game voice recordings (of which there are a lot).
Originally I wasn't sure whether I wanted to implement subtitles or not. It's important to me that the game have an overall aesthetic that contains no visual language. I was worried that if we were to draw subtitles for people who don't speak English, it might ruin this. But, a year ago, I was talking to a friend who has experience in film, and he convinced me that people just understand that subtitles are a different thing, that they are a layer on top of the game or movie or whatever.
regarding developers putting english subtitles over english voiceover: to be honest, i would go crazy without these in most cases. can you imagine having to listen to every line of dialog in a Mass Effect game? i need the subtitles so you can read quickly and skip thru the dialog.
Abates, how do I tell if an image or redirect has an outside/off-site link pointing to it? I want to delete [[:Image:LiveActionJazz-Skywarp01.jpg|this]], but it's pretty old, so I don't know if there might be any links to it. (Probably want to keep the talk page, tho.) --Monzo 20:13, 20 January 2012 (EST)
Specifically, I want my app to access the subtitles (or other timed text stream) coming in on live TV, whether it be via cable or over the air. Is this even possible? If not, is it on the roadmap for a future release?

With Bandai no longer releasing or licensing anime in the US, in your opinion, is this the end of any Gundam anime reaching the US? Although right now Sunrise has it's own YouTube channel (Anime Channel) in which it's streaming the the original Mobile Suit Gundam, Zeta Gundam, Gundam Wing, and Gundam 00, the idea of physical release on DVD may seem impossible now, even though it seems like Sunrise is releasing newer Gundam series like AGE with english subtitles in Japan for possible import, the prices for their single volumes would be incredibly expensive.
I find it amusing that the games I responded to best use game styles that I'm not very good at. Hopefully they'll make me care enough that I'll want to finish them. 2012 to 2013 looks good regardless.

I Want You 2012 English SubtitleI Want You 2012 English Subtitle >>> for the Spanish videos, they are all from the same episode of a Spanish telenovela called Como Deseo Es Su Verdadero Amor (Like I Want Him Is His True Love). I couldnt find anything about it on Wikipedia, the IMDB, or the Latindatabase, so it may be a unique episode, but because of the unique name I thought Id try that out.Be warned that this episode isnt very good, but still, you wont stop loving it after listening to it. I think Ive talked enough about telenovelas on these pages, so I wont say more about this one, save for to say that its a fairly standard telenovela plot (usually, theres a boy and a girl who are in some kind of romantic conflict, or at least, in the case of this one, who each want to marry the other, since its a girl with a boyfriend), except that the boyfriend turns into a werewolf (like Tony Danza in Moonstruck). The theme song is by Bailando Por Ella (Dancing for her), and you can view it HERE. There is apparently a sequel to this video, called As I Want Him, but because Ive never seen the complete first season of telenovelas, Ive never heard it. If you do, tell me what the theme song is. 3..
