Do I Get Full Ownership and Credit for My Book if I Use a Ghostwriter?

I’m considering working with book writing services in USA, and one big question keeps coming to mind—if I hire a ghostwriter, do I get full ownership and credit for the book?

From what I understand, ghostwriters create the content, but the author (who hires them) gets full rights. However, are there any legal or contractual things I should watch out for? Do all ghostwriting agreements guarantee that the author gets 100% credit and royalties?

For those who have worked with a ghostwriter, what was your experience like? Did you have to sign a specific contract to secure full rights? Were there any unexpected issues along the way?
