So, the MAC address of the network card is changed. Now you need to change the VolumeID of the system partition. VolumeID (or Volume Serial Number) is a unique identifier of a volume on a hard drive, which is set during formatting.

For me a MAC address change was enough, but first of all, you have to identify if you have to renew the ID on source (your machine), destination or both. You can check if you will actually getting new ID with TeamViewerQS, so you can play with the options and quickly verify the result. If you are getting pissed off with no success at the end, you might consider switching to CloudBerry Remote Assistance as I did.
Technitium MAC Address Changer allows you to change (spoof) Media Access Control (MAC) Address of your Network Interface Card (NIC) instantly. It has a very simple user interface and provides ample information regarding each NIC in the machine. Every NIC has a MAC address hard coded in its circuit by the manufacturer. This hard coded MAC address is used by windows drivers to access Ethernet Network (LAN). This tool can set a new MAC address to your NIC, bypassing the original hard coded MAC address. Technitium MAC Address Changer is a must tool in every security professionals tool box.
This software just writes a value into the windows registry. When the Network Adapter Device is enabled, windows searches for the registry value 'NetworkAddress' in the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1- 08002bE10318}\[ID of NIC e.g. 0001]. If a value is present, windows will use it as MAC address, if not, windows will use the hard coded manufacturer provided MAC address. Some Network Adapter drivers have this facility built-in. It can be found in the Advance settings tab in the Network Adapter's Device properties in Windows Device Manager.
NOTE: This tool cannot change MAC address of Microsoft Network Bridge. Network Bridge will automatically use the original MAC address of the first NIC added into bridge with the first octet of MAC address set to 0x02.

Edit: I checked, and TeamViewer also looks at your MAC address. It probably works like this. When you first start TeamViewer (with no configuration files available), it looks up your MAC address. If it is not known by TV, it creates a new TeamViewer ID and associates your MAC address with it. If the MAC address is known, you get the teamviewer ID associated with it.
Just use a VM and save a snapshot after a clean install of windows, roll back to the snapshot, change the hardware address of the VM and install teamviewer again. Problem solved and no messing around with the registry and system files.
Since we started using a proxy server at work (zscaler), I am unable to get teamviewer portable to connect to my home pc. Theres a place to enter the proxy information manually, but I have no idea of what the IP address or port are. Any suggestions on getting around this? I am using version 4x.
If your router won't allow that, there are some workarounds. For example, you could try disabling JavaScript on the router configuration page so it allows you to enter the broadcast address in the port-forwarding box. You could also change your subnet mask to create a new broadcast address. Read a bit more about these workarounds on this page(Opens in a new window).
If the remote desktop program incorrectly detects commercial use, the TeamViewer commercial use detected error might occur. Reinstalling the program will fix commercial nodetected teamviewering Android or Windows 10 problem. Alternatively, you may change your computer MAC address manually or with the aid of a specialist program. As you continue reading the article you will find a few troubleshooting steps mentioned below to assist you in resolving TeamViewer commercial nodetected teamviewering Windows 10 issue.
Step 6. Then, using one of the special tools available, change the MAC address of your network card. Alternatively, you can edit your MAC address through the registry by following the steps outlined below.
Step 9. Find DriverDesc option, where the description (name) of your NIC must be specified (for example, Intel(R) 82574L Gigabit Network Connection). When you've found the correct network card, double-click the NetworkAddress parameter. It specifies the network card's MAC (hardware) address. It is sufficient to change a single digit in the current MAC address, such as 000C299D4D80.
Step 10. As a result, the network card's MAC address is changed. You must now modify the VolumeID of the system partition. VolumeID (or Volume Serial Number) is a hard drive volume's unique identifier that is set during formatting. Use the console utility VolumeID v2.1 to change the VolumeID v2.1. VolumeId.zip should be downloaded and extracted. 2b1af7f3a8
