Winter’s here, and my heater has been pretty sluggish the last few seasons. It takes forever to warm up the house, and I’m worried about the energy bills. I’ve cleaned the filters, but is there anything else I should be doing to make sure my heating system is working efficiently this year? Don’t want to deal with freezing nights again!

Sounds like you’re already on the right track by cleaning the filters! If you’re still having trouble, it might be worth having your system checked out. Over time, things like the ducts can get clogged, or your thermostat might not be calibrated right. I had the same issues, and when I called Astera Services https://www.asteraservice.com/ in Chicago for help, they were amazing. They offer excellent appliance and HVAC installing and repairing services. They came out, did a full inspection, and found some airflow issues in my ducts. Ever since they fixed it, my house heats up much faster, and my bills have been way lower! Definitely worth a call if you want to stay warm and save some cash.
